Loss and damage talks ‘coming together’ - US

An agreement could be reached in Warsaw on a way of dealing with loss and damage caused by extreme climate events in developing nations

Climate negotiators gathered in Warsaw on Friday looked set to agree on a way of dealing with loss and damage caused by extreme climate events in the developing world.

A draft text published in the afternoon suggested the creation of a mechanism providing expertise and co-ordinating activities, as well as “enhancing” both risk management and “action and support, including finance, technology and capacity-building”.
