Companies call for auto-fuel CO2 regulation

A single 2030 greenhouse gas emissions reduction target for the auto-fuel sector is necessary to promote biofuels deployment, according to a report

A single 2030 greenhouse gas emissions reduction target for the auto-fuel sector is necessary to promote biofuels deployment, according to a report backed by a coalition of major car manufacturers and fuel suppliers.

This should be implemented using regulations on industry rather than an EU directive to “ensure a more rapid and efficient harmonisation”, the consultancy report points out.

Daimler, Honda, Neste Oil, OMV, Shell and Volkswagen are backing the report produced by E4tech and published on Tuesday.
