MEPs close to adopting position on CSR rules

Most members of the lead parliament committee broadly support the rapporteur's proposals but there is debate over which companies should comply

The European Parliament’s rapporteur on new corporate social responsibility (CSR) rules is expecting to reach a deal with other political groups in the next few days. Member states are still split on the legislative proposal tabled in April.

Raffaele Baldassarre’s recommendations, released last month, are largely supportive of the European Commission’s draft directive and keep the group of companies expected to produce non-financial reports the same.
