Greek presidency to push for waste shipment deal

In addition to reaching an agreement with MEPs on waste shipments, Greece aims to make good progress on Kyoto 2 ratification and cutting plastic bag use

The incoming Greek presidency of the EU aims to strike a deal between member states and MEPs on a proposal to beef up waste shipment rules.

It also wants to “significantly advance” proposed legislation on the ratification of the Kyoto Protocol’s second commitment period and on reducing use of plastic bags, the minister for environment, energy and climate change said.
