Mixed results for EU in green technology survey

Europe is increasingly falling behind in the low-carbon vehicle market, but it remains competitive in many renewable energy technologies, according to a study on green technology deployment

Europe is increasingly falling behind in the low-carbon vehicle market, but it remains competitive in many renewable energy technologies, according to a study on green technology deployment.

Alternative vehicles such as electric cars and hybrids have yet to take off in Europe whereas Japan and the US have achieved mass commercialisation, consultancy EY noted.

Investment in renewable energy saw a 58% decline in Europe since 2011 due to uncertainties about future policy support.
