Denmark will implement a non-binding limit on perfluorinated and polyfluorinated compounds (PFCs) in paper and cardboard food packaging.
Denmark will also push for an EU ban on PFCs, it said on Monday.
Evidence is growing that the chemicals are persistent in the environment and bioaccumulative, the environment ministry said.
Germany has had “good experience” with a similar guideline limit which most companies comply with, the ministry said.
