Carbon market experts are cautiously optimistic that the new global climate agreement to be agreed in Paris in December will help kick-start cooperation on carbon markets.

The prospects for emissions trading were improved at the last round of UN climate talks in Bonn last month, which reinstated provisions on the use of market-based mechanisms in the draft negotiating text for Paris.
