The European Parliament’s environment committee has called on the European Commission to withdraw its proposal for the first EU list of invasive species.

The draft list “ignores species that are among the most detrimental invasive alien species in Europe”, while other species that comply with the criteria and for which a “robust risk assessment is available” are not included, according to the non-binding resolution from Pavel Poc of the S&D group.
