The European Commission’s new proposals for promoting the shift to a more circular economy were welcomed by industry groups on Wednesday.
Eurochambres, the association of European chambers of commerce, called the new proposal “better balanced and more holistic”, while BusinessEurope said it was “more coherent and consistent” than the old one.
“It is positive to see the circular economy shaped as a long-term transition, avoiding one-size-fits-all and quick-fix solutions,” BusinessEurope said.
