EU representatives at the Paris climate conference denied the bloc was not showing leadership towards an ambitious deal, as alleged by environmental groups.

The EU was responding to claims by members of Climate Action Network (CAN) International, which said some developing countries were concerned the EU was letting them down.

Countries vulnerable to sea-level rise are particularly concerned that the EU is not advocating a 1.5°C goal and stronger climate action before 2020, said Lies Craeynest of Oxfam.
