European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) scientists have said the Commission should consider a ban on BPA in till receipts even though the socio-economic benefits are unlikely to outweigh the costs.

Following a consultation, ECHA’s socio-economic analysis committee has confirmed its draft opinion in relation to the cost-benefit of France’s proposal that the EU should impose a restriction on the endocrine-disrupting chemical in thermal paper.
