The European Commission will transform a €24bn tranche of its Horizon2020 research budget into a financing vehicle for innovation in the circular economy on Thursday 10 December.
The agreement will be finalised at a conference in Luxembourg on financing the circular economy strategy published by the Commission last week.
The amendment will be signed by Environment Commissioner Karmenu Vella, transforming the InnovFin loan programme, previously dedicated to just technology companies, into a fund for innovation in recycling and waste management.
