The biogas industry has reported record growth of 18% in the number of plants operating in Europe last year, with agricultural plants remaining the dominant type.
By the end of 2014, there were 17,240 biogas plants in Europe, but growth was unevenly distributed among the countries, a new report by industry association EBA indicated on Thursday.

But no new plants were built in Austria, Hungary and the Czech Republic, which scrapped its support scheme for new installations in 2014, according to the report.
