The European Commission is considering delaying the entry into force of new greening rules for EU farmers until 2018, a year later than the current implementation date.

However, the Commission plans to stick to its controversial proposal to ban pesticide use across the ecological focus areas (EFAs) that farmers set aside in return for greening payments under the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).
