Advocate general: Unblock Saint-Gobain’s access to ETS information

Advocate general Maciej Szpunar has argued that the European Commission should give multinational firm Saint-Gobain information on carbon allowances granted to the company that the institution has withheld since 2012

Advocate general Maciej Szpunar has argued that the European Commission should give multinational firm Saint-Gobain information on carbon allowances granted to the company that the institution has withheld since 2012.

The opinion from Szpunar, who sits in the EU Court of Justice, directly contradicts a judgment from the General Court in 2014 that backed the Commission in its decision not to disclose the information on grounds of confidentiality.
