The European Commission’s new package of energy policies could pump an additional €190bn into the EU’s economy and create up to 900,000 jobs, according to the climate commissioner.
Speaking at the Business Europe Power Market event in Brussels this week, EU climate commissioner Miguel Arias Cañete said the new measures would focus on the “inefficient” buildings sector, electricity market design and control of the EU’s Energy Union strategy.
