The European Parliament may insist on setting a binding target for the reuse of municipal waste as it gets to work on its negotiating position for the circular economy, early proposals have indicated.

The target would apply to the 60% recycling target for municipal waste by 2025 proposed by the European Commission last December, according to the draft, rising to 5% by 2030.
