The future of the EU Ecolabel hangs in the balance as the European Commission considers scrapping the whole scheme at the end of an ongoing policy review, leaked documents show.
The documents also reveal Commission proposals to remove three products from the voluntary EU-wide scheme that helps manufacturers highlight their products as environmentally friendly.
Changes to the EU Ecolabel were outlined in a note circulated among Commission officials before a College meeting on 25 October.
