Member states plan to block proposed changes to the criteria for endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDC) over concerns that they will reduce protection for human and animal health and the environment.

In June, the European Commission proposed changes that would mean only substances proven to have adverse effects on human health could be considered endocrine disruptors.
