Replacing EU agricultural subsidies with payments linked to environmental measures would benefit greener farmers and deliver a fairer system for taxpayers, German researchers have suggested.
The reform of the EU Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) for the period from 2021 should tie payments to farmers to environmental requirements to ensure that EU tax money delivers societal benefits, a study by research institute IFAB recommended on Monday.
