Fuel suppliers will have to progressively increase the share of renewable energy used in transport fuels that are placed on the EU market from 2021, a leaked draft of the renewable energy law seen by ENDS has indicated.

The required minimum share of energy from advanced biofuels, renewable transport fuels of non-biological origin, waste-based fuels and renewable electricity will grow linearly each year until 2030, but the exact figures were left blank at this stage in the draft directive.
