The EU executive has been called on to clarify its plans to tackle the environmental and health risks posed by endocrine disruptors amid angry challenges from MEPs over missed deadlines and a lack of concrete proposals in a recent strategy paper.

“For years now we've been waiting for practical criteria for all endocrine disruptors and a strategy, but I'm not sure that we've got that yet,” said Anja Hazekamp of the leftist-green GUE/NGL group at a hearing before the European Parliament's environment committee.
