NGOs join Brussels Region in glyphosate court case

A coalition of health and environmental NGOs has joined the Brussels region of Belgium in its EU court case against the EC over the decision last year to renew the licence for the herbicide glyphosate

A coalition of health and environmental NGOs has joined the Brussels region of Belgium in its EU court case against the European Commission over the decision last year to renew the licence for the herbicide glyphosate.

Brussels – as one of three semi-autonomous regions in the federal Belgian state– announced in March it was challenging at the EU Court of Justice the decision to extend the EU licence for glyphosate on the grounds that it affected its power to act on the environment and violated the precautionary principle.
