Fresh research has found wide variation between EU countries regarding the awareness and readiness of EU citizens to improve the energy efficiency of homes

Fresh research has found wide variation between EU countries regarding the awareness and readiness of EU citizens to improve the energy efficiency of homes, while governments have only until the end of the year to finalise their national energy and climate plans (NECPs) for meeting 2030 targets.

While in Germany, energy efficiency is a popular topic [and] the Spaniards and Bulgarians show a certain understanding of the different concepts […], the French and the Poles, however, have a very low awareness of the terms ‘zero emission’ or ‘neutral house’”, finds the report, commissioned by the European Climate Foundation.
