The European Parliament’s environment committee adopted a resolution which has made a series of recommendations to strengthen Europe’s system of authorising pesticides.
Lawmakers backed a draft report on the implementation of the plant protection products (PPP) regulation, written by S&D MEP Pavel Poc, by 529 votes to 34, with 63 abstentions.
Poc’s report proposed more transparency in the EU risk assessment model and transparency in relation to aspects of the authorisation by member states’ competent authorities.
