The European Food Safety Authority has developed a methodology for estimating the risk posed by mixtures of chemicals, while a new report indicates the health impact of endocrine disruptors acting in combination have been “systematically underestimated”.

EFSA said the complexity of chemical interactions and the “potentially infinite” combinations to which people, animals and the environment are exposed had led it to develop a “practical scientific tool” for risk assessors and managers.
