Global CO2 emissions reached a historic high last year, and governments must remain open to all options, including nuclear power, the head of the International Energy Agency said on Tuesday.

“My worry is there is a growing disconnect between the targets, papers, studies and expressions via a vis what is happening in real life… and this is very dangerous,” IEA executive director Fatih Birol said at the 14th European Nuclear Energy Conference in Prague.
