Most EU governments have failed to submit by the end of April deadline National Air Pollution Control Programmes (NAPCPs) for meeting national 2020 and 2030 reduction targets set out in the EU’s National Emission Ceilings (NEC) Directive, the EU executive has confirmed.

“The Commission is following this exercise very closely and has sent a letter on 10 April to all Member States who had not submitted yet on that date, asking for information and reminding Member States of their obligation,” an EU official told ENDS.
