Campaigners have called on EU governments to back European Commission proposals to ban a list of 11 pesticide active substances when they go before the executive’s committee on plants, animals, food and feed (PAFF) next week.
The agenda for the meeting of member state representatives on 23 and 24 October includes proposals not to renew the approvals of the 11 substances used in agricultural pesticides, some of which have been on the market for decades.
