Aligning the EU's circular economy policy with its long term decarbonisation strategy could deal with over half of Europe's greenhouse gas emissions, the co-chair of the UN Environment Programme's International Resource Panel said on Thursday.

Speaking at a policy forum in Brussels, the former EU environment commissioner Janez Potocnik warned of the need to decouple economic growth from the use of raw materials and environmental impact, not just CO2 emissions.
