Biofuel and agriculture industry groups have said the European Commission remains unwilling to impose tariffs on Argentine biodiesel in response to unfair subsidies, despite warnings the European industry faces collapse.

European industry representatives met Commission officials last week to press for action against subsidised imports from the south American country, in the wake of a trade defence (TDI) committee discussion of an investigation by the executive into allegations of unfair subsidies against the Argentinian government.
