More than 110 campaign groups, legal and scientific experts have called for reform of the EU pesticides regulation regime to better protect the environment and human health.
The groups, led by Pesticide Action Network (PAN) Europe, ClientEarth, Corporate Europe Observatory (CEO) and others, launched the ‘citizens for science in pesticide regulation’ manifesto in Brussels on Thursday.
The move comes as the European Commission is reviewing its pesticides regulation through the REFIT programme and the European Parliament’s PEST committee is due to deliver its recommendations before the end of the year.
