The European Commission has pledged to launch a comprehensive screening process of legislation relating to endocrine disruptors.

In a communication to the other EU institutions, the Commission has set out its revised strategy on endocrine disruptors - substances that disrupt hormonal processes and are deemed to be a threat to human health and the environment.

It will carry out a fitness check on relevant EU legislation, building on a growing body of scientific evidence relating to the impact of endocrine disruptors since the strategy was first published in 1999.
