MEPs have accused the European Commission of keeping them in the dark over its intentions regarding a global scheme to control greenhouse gas emissions from aviation, with a key legal deadline looming.

Quizzed on Monday by the European Parliament's environment committee, transport commissioner Violeta Bulc was pressed to clarify her position on the CORSIA system agreed by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) last year.
