The health impact of air pollution from road transport is costing tens of billions of euros annually across the EU, but is set to fall dramatically over the coming decade, according to a report published on Tuesday.
The study, commissioned by the European Public Health Alliance, a campaign group, seeks to make an economic case for action on air quality, an area in which most national governments have repeatedly failed to comply with EU pollution limits.
