Well over half of summer fruits such as strawberries and cherries are tainted with chemical “cocktails” whose potential health impacts are unclear, campaigners have warned after analysing the latest EU data on pesticide residues.
The European Food Safety Authority released last week its annual report, which concluded from 2017 data that almost 96% of food and feed products sold in Europe were free of pesticide or contained traces that fell within legally permitted levels.
