The eyes of the world will be on Glasgow in December 2020, when it will host 30,000 delegates for crucial UN climate talks.

It emerged on Tuesday that rival bidder Turkey had dropped out of the race to host COP26. Having secured the backing of a group of countries responsible for choosing a host nation, the UK is set to run the event alongside Italy in November 2020. Formal confirmation is expected at the COP25 summit in Chile this December.
