More than 100 industry actors have pledged to more than double the volume of recycled plastic in European products in just six years, but environmental groups have called it a 'missed opportunity'

More than 100 industry actors have pledged to more than double the volume of recycled plastic in European products in just six years, but environmental groups have called the European Commission initiative “a missed opportunity”.

The Circular Plastic Alliance (CPA) Declaration sets a voluntary target of 10 million tonnes of recycled content in products and packaging by 2025, up from 4 million in 2016. Signatories included multinational firms, SMEs and trade associations, along with a handful of public authorities.
