The latest IPCC report on the damaging impacts of climate change on the planet’s oceans and frozen areas is “a wake-up call for the global community”, European commissioners have said, calling for action to tackle the issue “as soon as possible”. 

In a joint statement, the commissioners for climate action, environment, and science and innovation urged EU member states to push forward with “an ambitious implementation of the Paris Agreement”.
