A flagship €500bn EU investment fund is failing to make a significant contribution to tackling the climate crisis, watchdog NGOs have said.

In an analysis of the pilot phase of the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI), published this week, public finance NGOs Counter Balance and CEE Bankwatch Network said the key fund of the so-called ‘Juncker Plan’ economic stimulus package had barely exceeded the support for climate projects of standard European Investment Bank operations.
