The Chinese ban on plastic waste imports has not led to significantly greater plastic incineration in Germany, according to an energy-from-waste industry group.

Analysis by ITAD, the German association of energy-from-waste plants, found no major increase in the net calorific value recorded by its members, confounding the expectation that China’s ban would lead to a surge in plastic incineration in Europe.
