New EU legislation setting standards for sustainable investments will head to inter-institutional negotiations on Wednesday after lawmakers agreed on their position on the proposed ‘taxonomy regulation’.

Members of the parliament’s Environment Committee voted on Monday evening to open talks with member states by 95 votes to seven, with nine abstentions. The first round of negotiations will take place on Wednesday evening and a second-round could follow by early November.
