Global progress on energy efficiency too slow - IEA

Global progress on energy efficiency declined for the third consecutive year in 2018, according to the International Energy Agency

Global progress on energy efficiency declined for the third consecutive year in 2018, according to the International Energy Agency (IEA).

Energy efficiency improved by just 1.2% in 2018, when measured through primary energy intensity, the Paris-based organisation has said in its latest report. That represents a decrease from the 1.7% improvement measured in 2017 and is well below the annual 3% rate the IEA considers necessary to reach the global climate goals.
