EU agriculture subsidies are driving accelerating and irreversible biodiversity loss by supporting intensive farming, according to a group of 2,500 scientists from across the bloc.
“We urge you to act on the science, and undertake a far-reaching reform of the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) without delay,” reads a letter signed by five biodiversity organisations sent on Tuesday to European Parliament lawmakers on the Agriculture and Environment Committees.
