Interview: Cefic head Marco Mensink on innovation, enforcement and low hanging fruit

The European chemicals industry has come under close scrutiny in recent years, with growing calls from civil society for tougher regulation only reinforced by recent revelations of widespread failures in compliance with the EU's flagship Regulation on Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH). Director general Marco Mensink outlined how the industry is striving to comply with EU law, and why the chemicals sector wants policymakers to focus their forthcoming strategy on innovation and enforcement of existing rules.
