Blog: Hacks to join climate fight in 2020 with world's longest ever press conference

As Brussels winds up for the year, journalists have launched plans to run the world's longest press conference in 2020 to draw attention to the climate crisis. But can it really help shift the minds of Europe's own climate laggards?

Thursday evening saw the launch of the The World Press Clubs Alliance for Climate at the Press Club Brussels Europe in the de facto EU capital's traffic choked and filthy aired European quarter. On 5 June, World Environment Day, two dozen journalists' hangouts around the world will stage a rolling live broadcast, moving hourly from one time zone to the next to complete a (world record!) 24-hour press conference to raise awareness of the global climate emergency.
