Renewables and plastic waste EU public's top priority

The European Green Deal should prioritise developing renewable energy and addressing plastic waste, according to a majority of EU citizens polled in the latest Eurobarometer survey

Of the 27,382 people interviewed across all EU member states, 54% said renewable energy should be a top priority of the green deal, the European Commission’s flagship environmental package unveiled earlier this month

Some 53% of respondents said that “fighting against plastic waste” and tackling single-use plastics should also be a priority.
