UK official: Brexit will lead to ‘limited’ divergence from EU rules

The UK is unlikely to diverge significantly from EU regulations after the Brexit transition period, a senior adviser to British prime minister Boris Johnson has said.

While Montgomerie acknowledged that he was not responsible for the government’s Brexit strategy, he predicted that “some eurosceptics will be disappointed by the treaty that emerges from the next few months of negotiations”.
