EU executive accused of withholding ‘crucial’ CAP report

Environmental campaigners have demanded the European Commission release what they say is “likely the most comprehensive assessment made to date” on the impact of the Common Agricultural Policy on habitats, landscapes and biodiversity.

The commission review, which comes as negotiations continue over post-2020 reforms to the EU’s most expensive policy instrument, aims to review “the extension and quality of habitats, variety of landscapes as well as the level, quality and geographical presence of biodiversity”.
