Renewables share spikes in Germany on the back of Covid-19 crisis

The European power sector has hailed new data from Germany showing half of the electricity consumed in the first quarter of 2020 came from renewable sources, smashing last year’s record, in part due to the industrial shutdown triggered by the Covid-19 crisis.
